Need to share your email design with stakeholders, add it to a presentation, or save it for your records? The Screenshots feature lets you download high-resolution PNG screenshots of your email at both desktop and mobile widths β bundled in a single ZIP file.
This feature is available on Growth and Enterprise plans.
How to Download Screenshots

- Select the frame you want to capture in Figma.
- Click Preview in the Email Love plugin panel to open the preview window.
- Click the Screenshots button in the top-right area of the preview header (next to the Export button).
- The plugin will show a "Generating..." loading state while your screenshots are being created.
- Once ready, a ZIP file will automatically download to your computer.
The ZIP file contains two PNG files:
- Desktop.png β Your email rendered at 640px wide (standard email width) at 2x resolution
- Mobile.png β Your email rendered at 375px wide (iPhone SE width) at 2x resolution
Why 2x Resolution?
Both screenshots are captured at 2x device scale factor, meaning a 640px email produces a 1280px-wide image. This ensures your screenshots look sharp on:
- Retina and high-DPI displays β no blurry previews in presentations or documents
- Zoom and screen sharing β images hold up when enlarged during meetings
- Print materials β high enough resolution for printed decks and reports
Common Uses for Email Screenshots
Stakeholder review and approvals β Share email designs with managers, clients, or cross-functional teams who don't have access to Figma. Attach the desktop and mobile PNGs to a Slack message, email, or project management tool for quick sign-off.
Presentations and decks β Drop screenshots into Google Slides, Keynote, or PowerPoint to showcase email campaigns in quarterly reviews, client presentations, or portfolio pieces.
Design documentation β Archive your email designs as images for brand guideline documents, design system references, or campaign retrospectives.
Social media and case studies β Use the screenshots to show off your email design work on LinkedIn, Dribbble, or your portfolio site.
Tips
- Preview before capturing β Use the preview panel to check your email looks correct on both desktop and mobile before downloading screenshots. What you see in preview is what you'll get in the screenshots.
- Check dark mode separately β The screenshots capture the current preview state. If you need dark mode screenshots, toggle dark mode on in the preview panel first, then click Screenshots.
- Large emails may take longer β Emails with many images or complex layouts will take a few extra seconds to render. The "Generating..." indicator will keep you informed.
Troubleshooting
"The screenshots look different from my Figma design"
This is expected β the screenshots capture the rendered HTML version of your email, not the Figma design itself. Small differences in spacing and text rendering are normal, just like with the preview. The screenshots show exactly what your subscribers will see.
"The download didn't start"
Make sure you have a valid email frame selected before opening Preview. If the issue persists, try closing and reopening the preview panel, then click Screenshots again.
"The screenshots are taking a long time"
Emails with very large or numerous images take longer to render. Try optimizing your image sizes if generation is consistently slow.
