The Email Love MCP connects your AI assistant to Email Love’s library of real marketing emails. Ask it to compare offers, walk a brand’s lifecycle journey, pull brand insights or find design inspiration, and every example links back to its page on emaillove.com. Connect it once with your Email Love sign-in. It is free with an Email Love account, and everything is read-only. Product overview: emaillove.com/mcp.

What it does

Once connected, your AI assistant can:
  • Search the library by keyword, brand, or category.
  • Open emails with their subject line, sender, screenshot, categories and editorial notes, and retrieve the full HTML.
  • Walk lifecycle journeys to see how a brand sequences its welcome flow, abandoned cart, win-back and more.
  • Read brand insights: send cadence and timing, ESP, subject-line patterns and content signals.
  • Read your own data: your collections, liked emails, and the brands you follow on emaillove.com.
  • Render emails inline as visual cards in clients that support MCP Apps.

Cost and limits

The MCP server and the REST API are free for now with an Email Love account: every tool and the whole library, with no monthly limit. Requests are limited per minute so one client can’t overload the service; see Rate limits.

Before you start

You need:
  • A free Email Love account (sign up at emaillove.com, no credit card needed).
  • An MCP client that supports remote servers with sign-in: ChatGPT, Claude (Claude.ai, the desktop app, Cowork and Claude Code), Codex, Cursor, and others.
The server URL is always:
Name the connection Email Love wherever you add it, so it is easy to spot if you check later whether you are already connected.

Connect your AI client

Check Plugins → Installed first so you do not add Email Love twice.
  1. Open Plugins in the sidebar (or go to chatgpt.com/plugins), click +, then Add custom MCP server.
  2. Name it Email Love, paste the server URL, and choose OAuth for authentication.
  3. Select I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin. Sign in to Email Love when ChatGPT asks, and click Allow.
  4. In a new chat, type @ and choose Email Love.
Custom MCP plugins need a paid ChatGPT plan and work on the web. In Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, an admin has to allow them first.
Using Claude Code, Codex or Cursor? The connection chooser on emaillove.com/mcp has a Copy setup brief button. Paste the brief into your agent and it checks for an existing connection, connects Email Love, tells you when to sign in, and runs a first piece of research.
How to tell it worked: ask your assistant which Email Love tools it has. You should see tools such as search_emails, fetch_email, get_journey and get_brand_insights.

Try your first prompt

A few starter prompts to get a feel for it:

The agent figures out which tools to call. Email cards render inline as a carousel. Preview the actual emails, click through to the full page on emaillove.com, or ask the agent to fetch a specific one for more detail.

What each tool does

You usually don’t need to call these by name. Your AI agent figures out the sequence from your natural-language request. But if you want to see what’s available:

Privacy & access

  • Sign-in uses your standard Email Love account, the same one you use to like and save on emaillove.com.
  • The MCP is read-only: it can search, browse, and fetch. It never modifies your account or sends anything.
  • Per-user tools (list_collections, get_collection, list_liked_emails, list_followed_brands, list_followed_brand_emails) only ever see your own data.
  • The Email Love library itself is public. What you see in the MCP is the same set browsable on emaillove.com.
  • To rotate access: delete the connector in your AI client and re-connect. To fully revoke: delete the connector.

Troubleshooting

“Authorization request blocked” The AI client sent a callback URL we don’t recognize. As of June 2026 we support all major hosted clients (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Lovable, v0), all desktop tools using loopback callbacks (Claude Code, Cowork, Cursor desktop in loopback mode), and reverse-DNS-style custom URI schemes (Cursor desktop’s cursor://anysphere.cursor-mcp/). If you hit this with a client we should add, email hello@emaillove.com with a screenshot of the block page. Carousel doesn’t render visually (just shows JSON or plain text) Some MCP clients don’t support the MCP Apps UI yet. Ask the agent to “show me the first 3 emails as a list”. It’ll fall back to plain text with links. Sign-in loops back to the sign-in page Your browser may be blocking third-party cookies for emaillove.com. Allow cookies for emaillove.com and try again. Sign-in finished on the emaillove.com sign-up page If you signed in to an existing account from the sign-up page’s Log in link, the browser can stay on that page instead of returning to the Allow step. You are signed in, so go back to your assistant and connect again; it now goes straight to Allow. Tools don’t appear after connecting Start a new chat or task: tools load when a conversation starts. In Claude Code run /mcp; in Cursor check Customize → MCPs. If the Claude desktop app still shows nothing, quit it completely and reopen. On macOS, use ⌘+Q rather than just closing the window. Email Love is listed twice Some installs already include a connection, such as the Email Love plugin for Codex and ChatGPT. Keep one entry that points to https://chat.emaillove.com/mcp and remove the other. Empty results when searching The library is large but not infinite. Try broader keywords, or browse by brand instead (list brands, then show me emails from X).
