The Email Love Figma plugin lets you design emails in Figma and export them directly into Emarsys as new email campaigns. This guide walks you through the setup process.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:
  • An active Emarsys account with API access
  • Your Emarsys API Username and API Secret
  • The numeric Email Category ID and Contact List ID from your Emarsys account (these are account-specific and required by Emarsys when creating an email)
  • The Email Love Figma plugin installed
  • At least one email designed in Figma using the plugin
1

Connect Your Emarsys Account

  1. Open Figma and select your email frame
  2. Launch the Email Love plugin and click the blue Export button
  3. From the dropdown menu, select Emarsys
  4. Enter your API Username and API Secret
  5. Enter your Sender Name and Sender Email (Emarsys attaches these to every email it creates)
  6. Enter your Email Category ID and Contact List ID
  7. Give this connection a name and click Set API Key
Your credentials are stored securely and encrypted server-side, so you only need to do this once.
2

Export Your Email

  1. With your email frame selected, click the blue Export button
  2. Select Emarsys from the dropdown
  3. Click Export
  4. You’ll see a success message when the upload is finished
3

Access Your Email in Emarsys

Your exported design appears in Emarsys as a new email, ready to review and use in your campaigns.

Important Notes

Every export creates a new email. Emarsys’ API doesn’t allow editing an email after it’s created, so there is no Updatable Templates option for this integration. Each export from the plugin creates a fresh email with a date-suffixed name. You may want to periodically clean up old versions in Emarsys.

Troubleshooting

Export fails with an authentication error: double-check your API Username and API Secret. Emarsys authentication is strict about exact values. Export fails with a validation error: confirm your Email Category ID and Contact List ID are correct for your account. These are numeric IDs, and Emarsys rejects emails created without valid ones.
