The Email Love Figma plugin lets you design emails in Figma and export them as email templates in Salesforce Pardot (now called Marketing Cloud Account Engagement). This guide walks you through the setup process.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:
  • A Salesforce account with access to Pardot / Account Engagement
  • A Salesforce Connected App with its Consumer Key and Consumer Secret
  • Your Pardot Business Unit ID (found in Salesforce under Setup, then Pardot Account Setup)
  • Your Salesforce username and password, plus your security token
  • The Email Love Figma plugin installed
  • At least one email designed in Figma using the plugin
Your Salesforce org must allow the OAuth username-password flow. Many newer orgs have it disabled by default. A Salesforce admin can enable it under Setup, then OAuth and OpenID Connect Settings, then Allow OAuth Username-Password Flows.
1

Connect Your Salesforce Account

  1. Open Figma and select your email frame
  2. Launch the Email Love plugin and click the blue Export button
  3. From the dropdown menu, select Salesforce Pardot
  4. Enter your Salesforce Domain (your My Domain URL, starting with https://)
  5. Enter the Connected App’s Consumer Key and Consumer Secret
  6. Enter your Business Unit ID
  7. Enter your Salesforce Username and Password
  8. Give this connection a name and click Set API Key
In the password field, append your Salesforce security token directly after your password (no spaces). Salesforce requires this unless your IP address is allow-listed in your org. Without it, authentication fails with an invalid_grant error.
Your credentials are stored securely and encrypted server-side, so you only need to do this once.
2

Export Your Email Template

  1. With your email frame selected, click the blue Export button
  2. Select Salesforce Pardot from the dropdown
  3. Click Export
  4. You’ll see a success message when the upload is finished
3

Access Your Template in Pardot

Your exported design appears in your Pardot email templates, ready to use in Engagement Studio programs and list emails.

Updatable Templates

The Pardot integration supports updating in place:
  • Toggle off (default): every export creates a new email template.
  • Toggle on: enable Updatable Templates in the export settings and re-exports update the same Pardot template instead of creating duplicates.
See Updatable Templates for how this works across platforms.

Troubleshooting

Authentication fails with invalid_grant: the most common cause is a missing security token. Append it to your password in the password field, or ask your admin to allow-list your IP. Also confirm the OAuth username-password flow is enabled in your org (see the note above). Template doesn’t appear in Pardot: confirm your Business Unit ID is correct and that your Salesforce user has access to that business unit. If you’re stuck, reach out to support@emaillove.com.
